1990 Aultmore Year 16 Old Douglas Laing 50% Abv JOHNNIE WALKERColour: Dark gold. Nose: Very grassy. Whiffs of a freshly emptied wine barrels inside, quite some praline and candy sugar, hints of ham and game, white wine , green tea Mouth (neat): Smooth and pleasantly fruity (first sultanas and dates, then kumquats and Seville oranges). Sultanas, apricot pie, a little balsamico, pepper flavoured chocolate , plum jam Rather perfect balance. Finish: Rather long, compact, candied, with strong notes of strong honey

the Decanters were produced by a small firm of fancy goods manufacturers called Carvendale's who had a little factory in Edinburgh's Thistle Street
