Patrice (Vinyl LP) JazzJoining Elektra after three albums with jazz label Prestige, Patrice had shown prodigious talent at an early age and had ??rst broken through after winning a competition to perform at the Monterrey Jazz Festival of 1972. By the time of the recordings on this collection, she had become a proli??c and in demand session musician and arranger on the West coast, appearing on over 80 recordings for other artists. She joined the Elektra Asylum roster in 1978

2006 saw the band back-peddle into the background concentrating on writing new material and cherry picking who they wanted to work with and to that end they entered a studio in Vancouver late last year with Alex Kapranos (Franz Ferdinand) who as well as being on the "same wavelength" also loved the new songs
