Cicada Shell Brooch Pin GlassA single pin made from the shed shell of a cicada kihikihi hand cast in solid sterling silver. The cicada measures approximately 25mm x 25mm Sophie is trained in Fine Arts creating nature inspired pieces and one off bespoke jewels. Working mainly in sterling silver, gold and precious gems, her aesthetic draws on the delicately flawed beauty of natural forms, and repetitive textures and patterns found in nature.

The name of this artwork ‘Freedom Fantail’ represents the awesome freedom we have in New Zealand to walk freely amongst amazing bush tracks or walk along stunning coastal beaches sprinkled with Pōhutukawa trees along the coastline
