Mitan 2021 Region|SicilyThe most boldly structured of the Grange du Nord wines, Mitan introduces a wild edged nose of Carignan to the Grenache and Cinsault, and brings a lightly vegetal, stemmy character from the whole bunches. Giving the most textbook notes of the varietals in its expression, there are forest fruits, blackcurrants and spice, with a tannic structure that feels woven into the wine. At once more classical, but at the same time that rugged, ever so funky
zippy and incredibly fresh with lots of pithy citrus
peachy texture and that lovely orange blossom perfume
A little nervy and a little wild
and an ideal steak frites wine
lightly gripping tannic structure
with experience telling us that it could easily see another decade in the cellar
We’re interested in wine with that all important ‘sense of place’ - if you want to really understand that term then this is a good wine to help you do so
Tawny is the oxidative style with lots of complex savoury nuttiness amid the raisined fruit
This natural wine is a 'brut nature'
completed in steel only and then bottled young
Unmistakably Sicilian - this Nero d’Avola and Frappato blend screams sunkissed fruit
but also begs the question
