This model in particular comes from Ted Spencer's part in George Greenough's film "The Innermost Limits of Pure Fun" where Spencer shapes himself a board based off Greenough's Velo Spoon outdoors. The outline is stubby and wide with a centered wide point and nice round nose

The Fineline Son Of Sam (SOS) is hand shaped by Brian Hilbers and based off of Nat Young's Magic Sam that won him the 1966 World Surfing Championship title
