Chateau Du Tertre Vintage 1987 VINTAGE WINES 1974This Margaux property was bought by the owners of Chateau Calon Segur in 1961. They invested heavily in the vineyards and the chateau to bring it back to its former status. Chateau Du Terre performed well in 1987 all be it in a littler style. Typical blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 75cl bottle. Abv not stated. Bottle condition, capsule good, label good, wine level base of neck.

The finish is long and complex replaying the complexities of the nose

A traditional style of claret and performing above its Cru Bourgeois status

but with a couple of decades of time on its hands

They have set about using low intervention methods of wine making and reducing yields to maximise flavours

1987 is a vintage that's reputation has improved over time

but they describe this cabernet sauvignon led wne as having its own personality

on the second pour the melted butter notes had some of us wondering about Rioja
